Comparing the AD200PRO and AD200PRO II

The Godox AD200Pro II keeps the same compact 200Ws output, fast recycling, TTL, high-speed sync, and approximately 100-meter wireless range that made the original AD200Pro so popular, while adding several meaningful workflow upgrades. The newer model expands the power range from 1/256 to 1/512, introduces a clearer full-color display, supports 16 color-coded wireless groups, and adds One-Tap Sync with compatible Godox X3 transmitters. Its redesigned speedlight and bare-bulb heads also feature adjustable bi-color LED modeling lights—most notably giving the bare-bulb head a modeling light for the first time—along with improved heat management and shorter flash durations. Faster USB-C PD charging and compatibility with an optional external power pack further improve efficiency for weddings, portraits, events, commercial work, and other high-volume shoots, making the AD200Pro II a worthwhile upgrade for photographers who want greater control and a faster, more intuitive shooting experience.

Maximum Flash Power 200Ws 200Ws Both models deliver the same maximum output in a compact, highly portable flash system.
Included Flash Heads H200 speedlight head
H200J bare-bulb head
H200 II speedlight head
H200J II bare-bulb head NEW
Both kits include two interchangeable light sources, but the redesigned II heads add improved cooling and new modeling-light capabilities.
Power Range 9 stops
1/1–1/256
10 stops
1/1–1/512 NEW
The lower 1/512 setting provides finer control for close-up lighting, subtle fill and wide-aperture photography.
Power Adjustment 0.1-stop increments 0.1-stop increments Both allow precise control between their full-stop power settings.
Recycling Time 0.01–1.8 seconds 0.01–1.8 seconds Recycling performance remains fast and suitable for weddings, portraits, events and location photography.
Full-Power Flashes Approximately 500 Approximately 500 Both provide substantial battery endurance for extended location sessions.
Battery 14.4V / 2900mAh 14.4V / 2980mAh The II receives a modest capacity increase while maintaining the same published full-power flash count.
Battery Charging Standard charger
Approximately 4 hours
Included PD charging system
Approximately 1 hour NEW
Faster charging greatly reduces downtime between shoots or during a busy production day.
Speedlight-Head Modeling Light Fixed-color LED Bi-color LED
2800K–6000K NEW
The II provides adjustable brightness and color temperature for previewing the light or using the head as a continuous fill source.
Bare-Bulb-Head Modeling Light None Built-in bi-color LED
2800K–6000K NEW
This is a significant upgrade: the new bare-bulb head lets you preview the direction and pattern of light without firing the flash.
Modeling-Light Output Speedlight head only Up to approximately 1400 lux at 1 meter
Both included heads
The brighter II modeling lights are more practical for setup, focusing, previsualization and limited continuous-light use.
Modeling-Light Control On / Off 10%–100% brightness
Free or proportional modes
NEW
Proportional mode can automatically vary modeling-light brightness with flash power, making the preview more representative.
Display Monochrome LCD Full-color screen NEW The redesigned interface improves visibility and makes settings easier to identify and change.
Wireless Groups 5 groups
A–E
16 groups
0–9 and A–F NEW
Sixteen groups provide substantially more flexibility for complicated multi-light setups.
Color-Coded Group Indicator No Yes NEW Each assigned group has a matching color on the flash and compatible X3 transmitter, making individual lights easier to identify.
One-Tap Sync with X3 No Yes NEW One-Tap Sync pairs the flash and transmitter without manually matching the channel and wireless ID.
Wireless Range Approximately 100 meters Approximately 100 meters Wireless transmission distance is unchanged; the II focuses on easier setup and expanded group management.
Wireless Channels and IDs 32 channels
IDs 01–99
