Meet the MoLight EXO BD24 — a truly portable beauty dish that delivers classic beauty dish performance, refined for today’s fast-moving photographer.
What makes the EXO BD24 a true beauty dish?
It starts with the shape. The EXO BD24 features the distinct curved form that focuses light just like a traditional metal beauty dish — crisp, contrasty, and dimensional, without the bulk.
But we didn’t stop there. Unlike softboxes that use internal mechanics that scatter and dull your light, we engineered the BD24 with all 16 shape-forming ribs placed externally. This keeps the interior clean and unobstructed for optimal light flow — no rods or brackets blocking light where they shouldn't.
And forget the dreaded poke-through. Our extended ribs are capped with durable, rubberized tips to prevent fabric wear and tear — a common failure point with softboxes. With the EXO BD24, poke-through is a thing of the past.
Beauty that works harder.
Inside, a soft silver interior delivers efficient, focused reflection with just the right hint of specularity — ideal for revealing skin texture in beauty portraits without going overboard.
The BD24 also comes ready to adapt. Use it as a traditional beauty dish with the included deflector plate — concave on one side, convex on the other — or soften things up by adding one or both layers of diffusion fabric. Want even more control? Attach the included 2-inch fabric grid for beautiful spill control and sculpted contrast.
Portability that doesn’t compromise.
The BD24 collapses down to just 18 inches, and fits perfectly into the included carry case — even with the deflector and diffusion attached.
Setup is lightning-fast thanks to our latest easy-snap latching system. Pop it open and you’re ready to shoot in 30 seconds or less. (Michael clocked it at 22 seconds on setup and 17 on takedown — and he’s no speed demon. You can probably beat him.)
The EXO BD24 comes with the deflector plate, two layers of diffusion, a 2-inch honeycomb grid, a carrying case, and a Bowens mount. A Godox mount version will be available soon.
