Godox AD600BM II Specs and 600Ws Flash Overview

Product Highlights

Below are key Godox AD600BM II specs for quick reference.

Overview of the Godox AD600BM II Strobe Flash

Introducing the Godox AD600BM II All-in-One Outdoor Flash Strobe, a successor to the AD600BM (ad600bm). This new strobe is here to make your workflow seamless thanks to the one-tap sync functionality with the Godox X3 trigger (available separately). Also featuring a newly designed screen for ease of operation by simply touching to change your settings. AD600BM II has a wider output range from 1/1 to 1/512 for more control over your lighting. If you need the Godox AD600BM II specs at a glance: 600Ws power, 1/8000 sec HSS, a 0.01--1.9 sec recycle time, and up to 500 full-power flashes.

It has also retained some of the features in its predecessor, that is, 600Ws output, flash durations as short as 1/10,000 sec, a recycling time of 0.01-1.9s and a wide range of HSS systems compatibility. This includes Canon, Nikon, Sony, FUJIFILM, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, and Leica. Within the lineup, it's often referred to informally as the Godox 600 and is part of the broader Godox AD600 family (sometimes simply called the Godox AD600).

Additional updates include a switch to the AD600Pro flash tube, reflector, and stand handle design, while maintaining compatibility with the original WB87 battery and AD-AC AC power supply. Please note that this new version pairs with the H600P extension head that was originally released for the AD600Pro.

Still being part of Godox's line of 2.4 GHz Wireless X system, this AD600BM II can be controlled wirelessly from a distance of up to 100 m with any of the brand's X system triggers. It features 32 channels and 16 groups that facilitate the use of multiple lights. A feature introduced by the AD600Pro II known as RGB Color Identification is also available in the AD600BM II. This means that each of the 16 groups will display a different color locally on the flash head for easy group identification even from a distance.

This light's output power ranges from 1/1 to 1/512 or 1.0-10.0 in 0.1 increments and it is powered by the WB87 Lithium-Ion battery pack that is able to provide up to 500 full-power flashes. You can also run the AD600BM II on AC power with an optional adapter. Recycling time is low at 0.01-1.9 sec and with high-speed sync it provides shutter speeds of up to 1/8000 sec as well as flash durations from 1/220 to 1/10,000 sec.

One-Tap Sync Capability

This function is meant to simplify the use of this light with instant synchronization with the X3 trigger, eliminating time spent on setting up channel, group and ID settings. It works by pressing the wireless sync option on both your X3 and the AD600BM II to achieve quick synchronization.

Upgraded TFT (thin-film-transistor) color screen

To control the light's settings, AD600BM II has buttons on one side as well as a large bright screen where settings are displayed. It has made operation even more simple with an on/off button and one to turn on/off the modeling light on the screen. Additionally, the screen's brightness can be adjusted for easy visibility in outdoor setups.

Modeling Light

This AD600BM II features a LED modeling lamp for use in previewing the flash effect or as a continuous light source for video recording. To control the lamp there are three modes: manual adjustment, proportional to flash power, and off.

Q&A

Question: What are the main upgrades in the AD600BM II compared to the original AD600BM?

Short answer: The AD600BM II adds One-Tap Sync with the optional Godox X3 trigger, an upgraded TFT color screen that simplifies operation (including touch-based control and adjustable screen brightness), a wider output range down to 1/512 (displayed as 1.0–10.0 in 0.1 steps), RGB Color Identification for easy group spotting, and adopts the AD600Pro flash tube, reflector, and stand handle design. It maintains the same 600Ws power, fast 0.01–1.9 s recycling, and compatibility with the WB87 battery and AD-AC AC power supply.

Question: How does One-Tap Sync work and what do I need to use it?

Short answer: One-Tap Sync is a fast pairing feature with the Godox X3 and X3 Pro triggers (sold separately). Press the wireless sync option on both the X3 and the AD600BM II to instantly synchronize without manually setting channel, group, or ID. After syncing, you still benefit from the full 2.4 GHz Wireless X control range (up to 100 m), channels, and groups.

Question: Which camera systems and wireless controls are supported?

Short answer: The AD600BM II works within Godox’s 2.4 GHz Wireless X ecosystem and is compatible with most TTL systems via the appropriate Godox X triggers, including Canon, Nikon, Sony, FUJIFILM, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, and Leica. It offers HSS up to 1/8000 s, 32 channels, and 16 groups. RGB Color Identification assigns a unique color to each group on the flash head for quick visual identification at a distance.

Question: What are the power, output, and battery/AC options?

Short answer: It delivers 600Ws with an output range from 1/1 to 1/512 (or 1.0–10.0 in 0.1 increments), flash durations from 1/220 to 1/10,000 s, and recycling times of 0.01–1.9 s. The included WB87 Li-ion battery provides up to 500 full-power flashes. You can also run it on AC power using the optional AD-AC adapter. A 40W LED modeling light offers manual, proportional, and off modes.

Question: What accessories and mounts are compatible, and what’s in the box?

Short answer: It uses a universal Bowens mount for broad modifier compatibility and now shares the AD600Pro flash tube, reflector, and stand handle design. It works with the H600P extension head and features a 3.5 mm sync port and a replaceable flash tube. In the box: AD600BM II strobe, flash tube, WB87 battery, charger, power cord, reflector dish, and a plastic protective cover.
