Can this flash overpower the sun?

Yes, to a certain degree. For a single person with the flash used close and a single layer of diffusion, the AD300PRO II can do a good job in filling the shadows caused by turning your subject away from the sun. We also recommend using a force-multiplier like the Godox AD-R12 long throw reflector, which can boost your effective light output by over 1 stop when compared to use the stock reflector that comes with the AD300PRO II.

Is this good for beginners?
