Important Information for AD300Pro and AD300Pro II Owners

Godox has recently made a running production change to the flash tubes used in the AD300Pro and AD300Pro II. Because of this, some flashes now require a quick flash tube selection process whenever a new FT-AD300 replacement flash tube is installed.

Don't worry—it's a simple process that only takes a few seconds.

How to Match Your New Flash Tube

Step 1: Enter Flash Tube Selection Mode

With the flash powered OFF:

  1. Press and hold the Flash Button (<⚡>)

  2. While holding the button, turn the flash ON

  3. Continue holding for approximately 2 seconds

The flash will enter the Flash Tube Selection screen.

Step 2: Identify Your Flash Tube

Look underneath the ceramic base of your flash tube.

You will find either:

  • No number at all

  • The number "1"

If you find there is no number on your existing flash tube, and no number on the new replacement flash tube, you do not need to change anything. If there is no number on your old flash tube, and the number "1" on your new flash tube, then follow these steps:

Using the control dial on the flash:

  • Select 0 if there is no number on the flash tube

  • Select 1 if the flash tube is marked with a 1

Step 3: Save the Selection

Once you've selected the correct number:

  1. Press the SET button

  2. The setting will be saved

  3. The flash will return to normal operation

Important: If no button is pressed within about 5 seconds, the flash will exit the menu and the change will not be saved.

Step 4: Good News—You Only Need to Do This Once

Once the correct flash tube type has been selected, the setting remains stored in the flash—even if the battery is removed.

The only exception is if you perform a firmware update. After updating firmware, you'll need to repeat the flash tube selection process.

What If You Don't See the Flash Tube Selection Menu?

If these instructions don't work on your flash, your firmware may need to be updated first.

Check your current firmware version and compare it to the latest version available from Godox.

If you're unsure about updating firmware, be careful. Installing the wrong firmware can cause problems with your flash. We offer firmware upgrades as a service option in the repair section.
